Swinton – Wounded
Sapper Lavender, of 60 Frederick Street, Swinton, who enlisted in February 1915 and went to France shortly afterwards, was wounded on Septmber 6th and returned to France in January.
He was again wounded on February 12th, his 26th birthday, and was ultimately discharged from Lincoln Hospital with a crippled foot.
He was formerly employed on the railway at Mexborough.
