Gunner Lambert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lambert, of White Lee road, Swinton, is this in hospital in Bristol with’ shrapnel wounds in the back.

He  joined the Army three years ago, and has been in France for two years and a half.

About a year ago he won the Croix do Guerre for gallantry by bringing messages and also conveying the wounded to cover during a successful attack on German trenches. He was at that time on liaison duties with the French. Army.

It is satisfactory to know that he is progressing from his wounds
