Saw King in France

Another Swintonian who is now serving in France is L/Cpl. H. Hall, son of Mrs. Hall and the late Mr. H. H. Hall, of 62, Toll Bar Road, Swinton.

L/CpL Hall was educated at Swinton National School and at the age 61 18 joined the Army and served eight years, six in India and Burma. He was promoted in India and was also appointed instructor.

He returned home and was on reserve when war broke out and was called up.

Cpl. Hall has written from France and states that he saw King George on recent visit.
