Sergeant J Gardner (York and Lancs), 24, Albert Street, is officially reported severely wounded on July 30 and in hospital in France.

He has also sustained burns on the hands and face.

Sergeant Gardner is single, aged 27, and enlisted in August 1914.

He went to France in July 1915.
