P.J. Cridge and 3 Soldier Sons

Private W.J. Cridge, of 223, Queen Street, Swinton, now serving with the 4th West Yorkshire, has 3 soldier sons, out of 7 children.

He himself has served 31 years in the Army, going through the third Burmese campaign and the South African war with the 2nd Somersets.

His eldest son, Private Ernest Cridge, who enlisted in August 1914, in the 5th York & Lancs (T.F.) was officially reported missing on September 26th, at the battle of Loos.

Private Fred Cridge (6th Yorkshire Regiment) went to the Dardanelles in September and is now at Salonika.

Private Percy Cridge, who enlisted in November 1914, and went to the front last August, is now in Newford War Hospital, Bristol with frost-bite.
