Sisters Are Nurses

Two of three daughters of Mr. and Mrs. P. Geraghty, of 5, Racecourse Road, Swinton, have qualified as Nurses.

Miss Anne Patricia Geraghty has just qualified S.R.N. at Sheffield Royal Infirmary, where she has been training following service at Doncaster Infirmary as a Cadet. She had already passed the preliminary examination at Rotherham Technical School — as did her sister, Miss Mary Ada Geraghty, three years earlier.

The latter qualified S.R.N. at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Tottenham, and S.C.M. at Nether Edge, Sheffield. She is now undergoing a two-months’ course at St. Ann’s, Tottenham, and is subsequently to become a Staff Nurse in Hackney.

Both went to St. Bede’s Roman Catholic School, Rotherham and were recommended to the “Tech by Mr. McClary, Both are deeply grateful to him and to his staff for their help and guidance.

A younger sister, Miss Ellen Maria Geraghty, is now attending Notre Dame High School, Sheffield, following success in the 11-plus examination and in the entrance examination to the Convent High School. She has not yet decided on her career, but is hoping to go to university.
