Under Two Flags

Two sons of Mrs. and the late Mr. G.  Hudson, 109, Duke Street, Swinton, are serving under different flags with the Allied Forces.

Wire-man Frank Hudson (23) has served two years with the Royal Navy and his brother James, who emigrated to Australia 15 years ago at the age of 17, is a corporal in the Australian Army Medical Corps.  He married after going to Australia.  Wireman Hudson has written home about the exciting time he had in the landings at Italy and Sicily.

At Christmas he met two Swintonians, Arthur Hall (Army) and Bill Jones of Queen Street, (R.A.F.) Having failed to find any beer on New Years Eve the trio spent an enjoyable evening in the ship.
