Able Seaman Smith who lived with his sister, Mrs. Jackson, 95, Market street, Mexboro’, is in hospital severely wounded in the right arm and shoulder.
He was wounded some time in December in France while acting as a front-line, stretcher-bearer, and was conveyed to England on New Year Day.
He is 34, and unmarried.
This is the third time he has been wounded in France, and he has also been invalided home from Gallipoli with dysentery before enlistment, in August, 1914, he worked at the Denaby Main Colliery.
