Cyril H. Parkin, only son of Mr. and Mrs. F .C. Parkin, M 37 Brookfield Avenue. Swinton, Mexborough, volunteered for the Navy in December last, and has been in training as a Signaller since January.

He recently passed the intermediate stage of his course successfully.

Before joining up Cyril was employed at Manvers Main In the internal audit department.
