Presentation for Services

As a token of esteem and appreciation of services rendered Mr. Edmund Senior, of Osmaston House, Station Street, Swinton, formerly cashier at Manvers Main, was presented with a radio-gramophone at the colliery offices on Friday morning.

Mr. Senior retired several months ago after 45 years’ service.  A native of Wath, he came to Swinton 35 years ago, and succeeded the late Mr. H. Humphreys as a cashier ten years ago.  Outside his work, music was his chief interest and formerly his services as a pianist were in considerable demand.

For many years he was organist at the Wesleyan Church.  The presentation was made on behalf of the staff and management by Mr. O. J. Phillipson (managing director), and kindly tributes were made by Mr.  A. T. Thomson (director and general manager).  Mr. P. H. Lloyd (assistant general manager), and other members of the staff.
