Obscene Language at Swinton.

Edward Drabble, miner, of Swinton, was summoned for having used obscene language at Swinton on the 8th inst.

P.c. Hewitt, having given evidence, the defendant was fined 10s and costs or fourteen days in default.

George Young, miner, of Swinton, was summoned for a similar offence on the same date.

P.c. Shuttleworth stated that on Sunday the 8th inst., about 12-15, he saw Young who was making use of obscene language. Witness spoke to him about his conduct and requested this him not to use such foul expressions.

Sergt. Barclay observed that defendant was before the court in December last year for having used obscene language  and he was then tined 10s. and costs.

The magistrates fined him 10s. and costs again.
