Miss Nessie Siddons daughter of Mr and Mrs Siddons, of 2, Foxland Avenue, Swinton became Police- woman Siddons the week before Christmas.

She was temporarily posted to Morley, near Wakefield but is now attending a Police Training Centre near Warrington.

Born at Ryecroft, near Rawmarsh, Miss Siddons moved with her parents to Swinton 14 years ago. Before joining the Force, she was employed in the .grocery department of the Barnsley British Co-operative Society at Swinton.

She is a member of St. John’s Methodist Church choir at Swinton, and a former Sunday School teacher, and but for her new career would have been appearing in Mexborough Theatre Guild’s production of “Pygmalion” next week. It would have been her first appearance with the Company.
