New Councillor – Fitter & Turner at Kilnhurst Colliery

Mr. E. Vickers, of 111, Victoria Street, Kilnhurst, who was elected to Swinton Council last Saturday to serve for one year is a fitter and turner at Kilnhurst Colliery.

Although he is new to Council work, he has considerable work connected with public welfare.

He has been closely connected with the Welfare Ground, and has been secretary and treasurer of the Tennis Section, treasurer of Cricket section, and also a member of the Committee.

He was the secretary for the Mexborough Montagu Hospital Coronation Appeal in Kilnhurst, and he is also the tournament secretary of the Mexborough lawn Tennis Association.

Politically Mr Vickers classes himself as Independent Labour.
