New Councillor

Mr George Ernest Palmer (Labour), miner, Toll Bar Road, Swinton, who was elected unopposed in the Central Ward, fills the vacancy created by the departure Mr William Chappell, who is now aged to the Colchester Labour Party.

Mr Palmer is a member of the West Riding County Council and president of the members main branch of the Yorkshire mine workers Association.

For the last two years since the elevation of Ald G Siddall, has been Swinton’s representative on the county council.
