New Chairman

Mr David White, the new chairman of the Urban Council, is an exceedingly well-known Swintonian.

During his five years in the Council has been chairman of the Lighting, General Purposes, Building and Irish committees, and was vice chairman of the Council last year.

He also has a good record of public service outside the Council and has been connected for many years with the Old Age Pensions and Library committees, Joint Hospital Board, the, the Old People Treat Committee, Jubilee and the Coronation committee.

A plate layer on the LNER, Mr White lives at 10 Rookery Road, Swinton.
