Missionary Effort

Lawson Guest, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Guest, Park Mount, Fitzwilliam Street, Swinton, deserves congratulations on his success as a juvenile collector in support of overseas missionary activity.

For more than ten years he has been collecting each week and has now qualified for the diploma awarded to juvenile collectors who in ten consecutive years collected 15 or over. Each year since receiving  his first medallion he has been able to add to it a bar of merit.

He is the only one in the Wath Methodist Circuit for some years to have been granted this award. He is now 16.

He attended the Fitzwilliam Council School and won a scholarship for Rotherham Technical College and after completing his course there entered his father’s business as a monumental mason. His father holds the important post of circuit steward of the Wath Methodist Circuit and is a prominent member of Swinton St. John’s Church.
