Charles Heaton the Swinton lefthander, is having the best season of his long career in first-class club cricket.

In thirteen times at the crease he has scored 655 runs in Yorkshire Council matches alone. He has got 251 of these since Saturday morning, and on Tuesday for the first time retired unbeaten. His figures therefore are:-

13 innings: once not out: most in an innings, 100 not out: average, 54.50.

His performances in the Swinton Feast series are:—

55 v Mexboro’, Saturday, 66 v Rawmarsh. Monday, 100 not out v Thorncliffe, Tuesday.

Heaton has struck his best form since July came in. Here are his scores before the Feast matches:—

97 v Monckton. 6 v Firbeck. 71 v Wath, 62 v York,  5 v Mitchell Main.

Since July 2, inclusive, he has scored 482 runs in seven completed innings: an average for that period of 70.28.
