Fractured Spine.

A woman named Clara Panther, aged 53, wife of William Panther, miner, Wath Road, Swinton, has died in the Montagu Hospital from fractured spine caused by falling downstairs.

About 1.45 on the morning of Friday, March 14, she was sleeping in the middle room at her daughter’s house, when she heard the child cry, and she got up to go to the child, and when passing from the bedroom fell downstairs.

A doctor was fetched to her and he ordered her removal to the hospital, where she died.
