Examination Success.
In the recent London University final degree examinations , Mr. Alfred Ardron, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Ardron, of 8, Station Street, Swinton, obtained his B.Sc. degree with First Class Honours in Chemistry.
Mr. Ardron commenced his education at the Swinton Bridge Council School where he obtained a County Minor Scholarship to Mexborough Secondary School. At the Secondary School he obtained Matriculation and Higher School Certificate, together with a County Major Scholarship in 1939.
He was a prefect from 1937 to 1939, Red Company captain, Athletics captain, and Victor Ludorum in 1939.
He entered King’s College, London University two years ago, and was evacuated to another town at the beginning of the war. Mr. Ardron hopes to take up a post as research chemist with Imperial Chemical Industries, Limited, in the near future.
