Mr WB Arnold, of Manor Road, added another remarkable cycling feat to his already lengthy list in the Sharrow Cycling Club’s, time trial on Saturday.
He equalled a record set up in 1913 by covering 205 ¼ miles.
Towards the end of this run he pumped and completed the journey on a strange machine. Even so, his average of more than 70 mph for such a lengthy racist equivalent or many motorists will consider satisfactory.
Mr Donald is a student at Sheffield University, and as holds many records and captured various trophies, including the “100” and “12” cup. His fastest time for a hundred miles is five hours 27 minutes.
