Belgium Visitor

A 19 year old Belgian girl, Josette Vanderweken, is staying at the home of Mr and Mrs I Severn 25 Charles St, Swinton.

Mr Severn met Josette while serving with the forces in Belgium in 1944. She comes from Haran, a town about the same size as Swinton. She is an assistant in a toy shop and speaks Flemish, English, French and German.

Josette’s favourite sport is swimming. She has already visited many local beauty spots.

Next year Mr and Mrs Severn hope to visit Belgium.
