A lucky Swinton toddler has won £1000 with one of two premium bonds he has owned for two years.
Three years old John Geoffrey Humphreys of 5 Prince St, Swinton, was given the bond as a present by his mother, Mrs Mary Humphreys, after she had received them for introducing a customer – her mother – to Rotherham Rediffusion television hire company.
“It was a billion to one chance, with John only having the two bonds,” said his father, Mr Dennis Humphreys.
Since John was doing the bonds, is mother has had two other children, Raymond (2) and Andrew (eight months) sure the money is to be divided between the three of them.
Half has been invested, and the rest has been spent upon opening a bank account from which the youngsters can draw when they are 21, and upon buying more premium bonds.
