Assistant Surveyor
Mr. Harold Goodwin, of Station Street, has been appointed assistant surveyor to the Bentley Urban District Council, and commences his duties to-morrow.
At present he is employed as a clerk to the surveyor in Swinton, but his position has afforded him many opportunities tor pursuing his practical studies.
He is only 24 years of age, and tor the last five years has attended evening classes conducted by Professor Husband at Sheffield University. He obtained a first-class certificate, with 97 marks out of 100 possible, for surveying at the University examination in 1926.
The appointment has given him a start on what promises to be a successful career, and it carries with it the best wishes of many friends in Swinton.
