Another “Title” for a Swintonian

While on holiday in Blackpool Mr. Ronald Thacker (20) of 89 Queen St, Swinton, won first prize in a “Beefcake” competition for which there were 36 entrants

Mr. Thacker, who is employed Manvers Main Colliery, started body building when he was 17.

At 2 0. M r.Thacker is now 12 stones, and has already won “Junior Mr. Sheffield,” ” Mr Wath Area,” “Health and Strength Gallery” Award and runner-up “Mr. Junior North-East Britain” titles, and has ambitions of winning the “Mr. North-East Britain” title.

Mr. Thacker and a friend, Mr. Kenneth Mason, are hoping soon to open a club in Church Street Swinton, with the aim of training local youths who are interested.19590800
