A Triple Success

Mr. Richard G. Baker, second son of Mr. and Mrs. George Baker, of Greno House, Swinton, has passed first-class for the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) at the University of Sheffield has won the Deacon Prize A, awarded to the best student in the final degree examination, and the Nobel Prize, awarded to the student obtaining the highest number of marks in Mining on the final examination for the degree and diploma.

Mr. Baker, who is 23 years of age, was at Leys School, Cambridge, prior to being entered as a mining student at the University of Sheffield.
