A Dangerous Dog

Mary Annie Everitt, Swinton, was summoned for being the owner of a dangerous dog that she did not keep it in proper control.

John Lee said he had twice been bit by the dog. He happened to have to walk along the road as the “mail” cart came along and the dog followed the “mail” cart and each time he saw the animal it bit him.

On December 22 the bite was so severe that he had complained to the police sergeant at Swinton.

Defendant said she had had the dog hung, and on that standing the case was dismissed on payment of costs.
