Mexborough and Swinton Times June 7th, 1919
Rotherham 132 for 8 Swinton 131
Swinton’s visit to Clifton Lane resulted in a good sporting game, with a fairly close finish, Rotherham winning by two wickets.
Wilson, Jack Harrison and Jenkinson were the main contributors to a Swinton total of 131.
The tail-end partnership between Harrison and Jenkinson was particularly useful, serving to stop a rot that had set in as a result of some effective bowling by Tom Aizlewood.
Rotherham started badly, but recovered at the fall of the third wicket, and finally won with a couple of wickets standing.
