Charge of Child Abandonment.

Another remand was granted at the Rotherham West Riding Police Court on Tuesday, in to case of the young unmarried woman named Maria Cusworth.
The woman has recently been an inmate of the Rotherham Workhouse, and was formerly a resident at Swinton.
She was charged with having abandoned her baby on the Swinton racecourse on Feb. 6th.
Superintendent Haynes applied for a further remand. He mentioned that five minutes ago he was in telephonic communication, with Dr. Riddell, the medical officer of the workhouse, who told him that the child was still very feeble.
Prisioner, who had nothing to say, was accordingly remanded in custody.
