Swinton 118 for 5 Brodsworth 117
Swinton romped home to an easy victory in their Council game with Brodsworth on Saturday. Replying to Brodsworths total of 117, Swinton played carefree cricket and knocked off the runs with five wickets in hand.
Brodsworth won the toss and elected to bat. G Whieldon was the only player who made a show, and he fell to H Stables, promoted from the second team, when his score was 42. Brodsworth wickets fell at regular intervals. From 24 for 2 they went to 54 for five and their innings closed at 117.
H. Parkin was top scorer for Swinton with 37, followed by L Smelt, with 26 and a grand exhibition of fireworks from A Auty, who score fast in a brief stay at the wicket for 20. Best bowler for Swinton was H Cadman, who took four for 29
