Swinton Officer Promoted

Lieut. M. Tyas, Swinton, formerly of the York and Lancaster Regiment, and new serving with a Labour Corps in Prance, has been promoted captain, and has been given command of a Labour Company.

His new rank dates front June 23 last. Captain Tyas went to Franco about a year ago, and was severely gassed, being incapacitated front service in the trenches.

He is a member off  the firm of Tyas and Guests monumental sculptors, Swinton.

Before joining the Amy he was closely identibed with the Boy Scout movement, and was also a N.C.O. of the Mexhoro’ and Swinton Home Defence Corps
