Tribute to “Times”
This week we have received a letter from Private Arthur Shaw, of 131, White Lee Road, Swinton who is serving in Palestine, in which he pays tribute to the “Stout Yorkshire Times.”
“After being without the South Yorkshire Times for several months, I was more than pleased when I received it a week ago. I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to such a fine paper which keeps you up-to-date with news of home.” He writes.
He is at present station at Haifa and went there from India.
Private Shaw was grateful to Miss Sylvia White, who sends him the “Times,” and suggest we might publish pictures of South Yorkshire beauty spots each week.
He was employed at Queens foundry before joining up.
