Three sons of Mrs Ball, 188, William St, Swinton, have been wounded, and are making favourable progress.
Private Joseph Ball (York and Lancaster) is convalescing at Ripon.
Private Charles W Ball (Lancashire Fusiliers) is in hospital in London with a wound in the right arm.
Private Albert Ball (York and Lancaster) a well-known local footballer, who used to assist Mexborough Town, is in hospital in France with wounds on the right leg and left thigh.
