Trains Crash Head-On
Serious Disaster Averted By Bridge
A fast parcel strain travelling on the LMS railway main line from London to Bradford today collided, head-on, with a good screen shunting towards Sheffield just outside Swinton station.
The parcels train had slowed down the 10 mph limit which is being imposed owing to the rebuilding of a bridge over the canal which is in progress offer mouthful down the line, and though the engine of the fostering was badly damaged, nobody was seriously hurt.
Mr a Right, the God of the fostering and Mr SC Silberman, fireman of the goods train the same bruises and were taken to their home in Leeds in a goods train.
There was no delay to traffic which was transferred to the slow line and by 10 o’clock the fast pickup line was clear.
Languages an important one connecting London and the North is a busy one, over 300 trains passing over it per day.
It is largely used by Sheffield to Leeds trains.
