New Career as a Yacht
A trim little vessel at present lying in the Swinton boatyard of Messrs Waddington and Sons, is attracting a great deal of admiration.
At one time the vessel was a lifeboat on the “Egypt,” a battleship which saw service during the war, and has been converted for a Sheffield steel manufacturer into a motor yacht.
The boat has been fitted with a 30 hp petrol engine, and is 30 feet from stem to stern, with a nine feet beam. It contains two sleeping berths, a lounge and a mess room, and carries about two tons of metal ballast.
