The wedding took place at St. Margaret’s, Swinton, on Saturday, of Miss Marjorie Holland, youngest daughter of Mrs. Adams and the late Mr. T. W. Holland, 69, Wentworth Road, Piccadilly. and Mr. George Shenton, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Shenton, Horbury House, Brookfield Avenue, Swinton. The bride was given away by her stepfather, Mr. William Adams. and wore white crepe repp trimmed with white ringed velvet. She carried pink carnations. Misses Dorothy Holland and Avice Farley were the senior maids, and Ivy Waterfield and Marjorie Preston the junior attendants. Miss Harley wore lemon georgette and Miss Holland lemon ninon, both with skull caps trimmed with autumn leaves. The juniors were in blue, with caps of blue ribbon and silver leaves. The seniors carried bronze chrysanthemums and autumn leaves, and the junior’s posies of chrysanthemums. Mr. Harry Thrustle (Mexborough) was best man and M. Wilfred Pohill groomsman. The Rev. R. W. L. Bedford officiated. A reception was held in the High House, Piccadilly.
