Congratulations are extended to Mr. Douglas Gray, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Gray, 66, Queen Street, Swinton, on his brilliant performance in the final examination for the degree of Bachelor of Arts at the University of London.
Mr. Gray was educated at the Swinton National School and the Mexborough Secondary School, where he matriculated a gained his Higher School Certificate.
After six years at Mexboro’ he entered King’s College, London, where he has taken an honours course in geography with geology as a subsidiary subject. During the first year he gained the King’s Scholarship and after taking his intermediate was awarded a Tennant prize for the highest number of marks in geology. Entering London University three years ago he obtained a Miners’ Welfare scholarship during his first year. Mr. Gray has taken a keen interest in varsity sport.
