Wedding: Beach & Vickers

Mr. Thomas Frederick Allan Beach, choirmaster of St. John’s Methodist Church, Swinton, and son of Mr. O. Beach and the late Mrs. Beach, 70, Harlington Road, Mexboro’, was married at Swinton yesterday, to Miss Emily Vickers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Vickers, 25, Woodfield Avenue, Swinton.

The ceremony, which was choral, was conducted by Pastor J. E. Townson, of Mexborough. and the hymns, “O Father all creating” and “O perfect love” were sung. Mr. N. Insley was at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore white crepe suede. veil and wreath, and carried a bouquet of pink roses. The bridesmaids were Misses F. Vickers and Eileen Vickers. who wore mauve and lime-green trimmed with organdie, while attendants were Misses Elsie Beach and Audrey Beach who had dresses of frilled net. Each carried a bouquet or posy of tea roses. The best man was Mr. E. Ward, and the groomsman, Mr. S. Vickers.

A reception was held afterwards in St. John’s Methodist School and later the couple left for a honeymoon in Gloucestershire, the bride travelling in a grey coat over a floral dress. Among telegrams of congratulation was one from the Mexborough Amateur Operatic Society, for whom the bridegroom was formerly a principal performer.
