Wedding: Flight Sergeant. H. Drakeford (Swinton)
and Miss P. B. Buxton (Swinton)
The wedding took place at St. Margaret’s Church, Swinton, on Monday, of Miss Phyllis May Buxton, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Buxton, “Keythorpe,” 151, Station Street, Swinton to Flight Sergeant Harold Drakeford, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Drakeford, 67, Crossland Street, Swinton.
The service, which was choral, was conducted by the Rev. R. W. L. Bedford. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of white brocade with veil and wreath of orange blossom and carried pink carnations.
She was attended by Misses Audrey Buxton, in pink lace, Cynthia Clark in turquoise blue crepe-de-chine, and Cynthia Parr in blue and pink taffeta. They caried bouquets of chrysanthemums.
Mr. S. Lewis was best man and Master D. Wilkie and Mr. R. Brown were groomsmen.
The bridegroom, who is a Flight Sergeant Instructor in the R.A.F., received a cheque from his service colleagues.
