Wedding Skelton & Ranger
Miss Barbara Skelton, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Skelton, 45, Bridge Street, Swinton, was married at Swinton Parish Church on Wednesday last to Cpl. Lewis Arthur Ranger, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Ranger, of Syndey Lodge, Durfold, Surrey.
The bride was given away by her father and wore a gown of ivory cloque, with full-length embroidered veil held by a wreath of orange blossom. She carried cream and red roses. Her attendants were Miss Thelma James and Mrs. Margaret Nicholson.
Best man was Mr. R. Nicholson and groomsman Mr. F. Godfrey. The couple later left for Scarborough, the bride travelling in a tweed costume with green accessories. The bridegroom is serving in the Royal Engineers. Gifts included a tea service from L.M.S. office colleagues of the bride at Sheffield.
