Chimney on Fire at Swinton
James Downs, miner, of Swinton, who was represented by his wife, was summoned for having had the chimney of his house on fire on the 20th ult.
The woman’s excuse was that she had no “copper,” and she was bound to keep up good fire as it was washday.
