Driver Douglas Beresford, of “Greenfield,” Racecourse Road, Swinton, is a despatch rider in the R.A.S.C. now serving in the Middle East.

He was one of the first to be called up, and one of the last to leave Dunkirk.

He is an old boy of Swinton Bridge School. The “South Yorkshire Times’ is sent to him every week, His parents received some snaps showing him with great bunches of bananas and oranges. The men have had these in plenty.
