Missing In Middle East

Mr. Edward Jevons, a member of the staff of the Fitzwilliam Council School, who has been reported missing while serving with the Royal Corps of Signals in the Middle East, joined up in June, 1940.

His wife, who resides at 67, Racecourse Road, Swinton, has been officially informed that her husband has been missing since November 22nd, and is presumed to be prisoner.

The last letter she received from her husband arrived on November 20th and ha d been written on October 28th.

In it he mentioned that copies of the “South Yorkshire Times” which his wife sends him every week had been reaching him in regular batches and he had at that time received every copy up to the issue of August 2nd.
