Missing.

Relatives of Trooper Leslie Colton have been notified that he was among the men posted as missing following the campaign in Greece.

His parents, old Swinton residents, now live in Rookery Road, and his wife’s home is in Slade Road.

Trooper Colton has served for eight years and he was in Egypt and Palestine before the war. He has an elder brother, serving with the RAF.

Another Swinton man who also joined up eight years ago, Bertie Bowman, whose mother lives in Queen Street, has been missing since April.

He is married and his wife lives in York.

An older brother is serving with the Pioneer Corps.
