Here are four generations of an old South Yorkshire family.

In the group are Mrs. Sam Oates, of 11 Crown Street, Swinton; her son Mr. A. Oates, of the Red Lion Hotel, Wath; his daughter, Mrs. T. Watson, also of the Red Lion Hotel, Wath and her small son, Terry Watson. The family have resided at Wath and Swinton for many years.
