Six-Foot Seaman

Although only 19. Able Seaman Ralph Marshall stands 6ft. 2ins. He has been in the Navy for three years and eight months. He thinks it a grand life, and would not change it.

Since joining the Navy he has served on H.M.S. Ganges, Revenge, Victory, Nelson and Somali. and is at present serving on an aircraft carrier.

He is a native of Swinton, and is a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. J. Tate, of “Claremont,” Station Street. Swinton.

He won a County Minor Scholarship when attending Swinton Fitzwilliam School. When on leave at Christmas he visited his old school twice
