Having a Grand Time

Sergt. Charles William Bradley (27), of Queen Street, Swinton, who is now serving in Iceland, was born in Swinton and educated at Wath Victoria School.

Before entering the Army, Sergt. Bradley worked first at Manvers Main Colliery and then as a silk knitter at Keighley.

Among the gifts sent by him at Christmas from Iceland was a sheepskin rug on which the wool is woven seven inches long, a bag and gloves made of grey sealskin and a piece of lava from a volcano.

He has won many trophies for football and still plays in Iceland. Sergt. Bradley and his friends have all learned to ski and skate, and according to a letter from him they all are having a grand time.

Sergt. Bradley is married and has one son.
