Honour for Swinton Councillor

County Coun. Maurice Creighton, of Station Street, Swinton, has been invited by the Minister of Fuel to serve on the consultative Council of the East Midland Gas Board.

Coun. Creighton accepted the invitation this week.

The Ministry is setting up councils throughout the country, consisting of a chairman and 20 or 30 members, whose services are purely voluntary.

Coun. Creighton has served on the Swinton and Mexborough Gas Board since 1923 and has been chairman four times.
